Quick connection check
- Connect the television and iPhone or iPad to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Keep the television powered on and awake.
- Open iOS Settings, Privacy & Security, Local Network, and enable Universal TV Remote Control IQ.
- Turn off a VPN or guest-network isolation while testing.
- Forget the saved TV in the app, then scan and pair again.
- If discovery still fails, find the TV's current IP address and connect manually.
Platform-specific help
The app cannot find my TV
Confirm that the TV and iPhone or iPad are on the same non-guest Wi-Fi network. Keep the TV awake, disable VPN temporarily, allow Local Network access in iOS Settings, then scan again. You can also connect with the TV's IP address.
Samsung says the app is unauthorized
On the TV, open Device Connection Manager, remove a previous denial from the Device List, reconnect and choose Allow when the new prompt appears.
LG pairing times out
Keep the LG TV on, check that mobile-app control is enabled in webOS settings, retry the connection and accept the on-screen prompt before it closes.
Android TV or Google TV does not show a code
Wake the TV, confirm both devices share a network, close any other pairing prompt and reconnect. Restart the TV if its remote service remains unavailable.
Roku appears but does not respond
On Roku, open Settings, System, Advanced system settings, Control by mobile apps, then Network access. It must not be Disabled.
Subscriptions and billing
Apple processes all purchases, renewals and refunds. Manage or cancel a subscription in iOS Settings under your Apple Account and Subscriptions. Use Restore Purchase in the app if an active subscription is not recognized.
