Does the app need infrared?
No. Remote Control IQ sends commands over your local Wi-Fi network, so your iPhone does not need an infrared blaster.
Why is my TV not showing up?
Check that both devices use the same Wi-Fi, turn off cellular-only or guest-network isolation, keep the TV awake and allow local-network access for the app. Manual IP connection is also available.
