Pairing with LG webOS
Leave the LG TV switched on and connected to the same Wi-Fi as the iPhone. Select it in Remote Control IQ and accept the pairing request shown by webOS. The app stores the pairing key on the device for later connections.
If the prompt times out, retry with the TV awake. Check that mobile TV or LG Connect Apps access is enabled in the television settings; the exact label changes between webOS versions.
Remote buttons, touchpad and apps
The app can send supported navigation, back, home, menu, info, guide, volume, channel, playback, input and number commands. The touchpad is useful for quick directional movement, while the keypad handles channel numbers.
After connecting, the Apps tab can request the installed app list from compatible LG webOS TVs. Selecting an app asks the TV to launch it. Availability depends on what the TV reports and allows.
How this differs from a Magic Remote
Remote Control IQ is a network remote, not a hardware clone. It does not reproduce the Magic Remote's gyroscope, scroll wheel, microphone or infrared control of external equipment.
For routine navigation, volume, channels and app launching, a phone remote is a convenient backup. Keep the physical remote for initial setup and hardware-specific features.
