Enter the code shown on your TV
Choose the Android TV or Google TV device in Remote Control IQ. A pairing code should appear on the television. Enter all six characters exactly as shown. The app keeps the device identity securely on the iPhone so you do not need a new code for every session.
If no code appears, wake the TV, close other remote pairing screens and try again. Some devices advertise slowly after waking from sleep, so waiting a few seconds before rescanning can help.
Brands that use Android TV or Google TV
The operating system matters more than the logo on the frame. Compatible Sony, TCL, Hisense and Philips models may run Android TV or Google TV, while other models from the same brands use a different platform.
Check the home screen or the TV's About page if you are unsure. A model that runs Roku should use the Roku connection path, even if the manufacturer also sells Google TV models.
Feature differences between models
Navigation, select, back, home, volume and playback are common, but each manufacturer decides which keys and wake behavior the television exposes. Some external Android TV boxes rely on the TV for volume through HDMI-CEC.
Remote Control IQ avoids claiming hardware features that the device does not provide. Test the essential controls after pairing, particularly power and volume.

Does this work with every Sony or TCL TV?
No. It supports compatible models that actually run Android TV or Google TV. Other models may run Roku or a different system.
