The Samsung approval step
Open Remote Control IQ while the TV is on, choose the Samsung TV, and watch the television screen. Select Allow when it asks whether Universal TV Remote Control IQ may connect. The TV can remember that decision, so later connections are faster.
If the request was denied or never appeared, open the TV's Settings, General, External Device Manager, Device Connection Manager. Make sure access notifications or mobile-device connections are enabled. Menu names vary between model years.
What you can control
Supported Samsung models can receive navigation, home, menu, guide, volume, mute, channel, playback and input commands. The app also offers button, touchpad and keypad layouts, so you can choose the control style that suits the current task.
Some newer and older Samsung televisions expose different commands. Power-on behavior is especially model-dependent because many TVs disconnect their network interface while off.
Fix a refused or repeated connection
A stored denial on the TV can block every later attempt. Remove Universal TV Remote Control IQ from the TV's Device List, reconnect, then accept the new prompt. Keep the TV awake and avoid a guest Wi-Fi network while testing.
If the app has an old address saved, forget the TV inside Settings and discover it again. You can also enter the current TV IP address manually after checking Network Status on the television.
Connect a Samsung smart TV
- Join the same Wi-Fi
Connect both devices to the same home network and switch the TV on.

Choose the detected television in Remote Control IQ.
- Choose Allow
Accept the Universal TV Remote Control IQ request on the television screen.
- Try the direction pad
Test arrows and OK first, then volume, playback and input controls.
Common questions
Why does my Samsung TV say unauthorized?
The connection was denied or mobile-device access is restricted. Remove the saved app from the TV Device List, reconnect and choose Allow.
Can the app turn on a Samsung TV?
Power-on support varies. Some TVs stop listening on the network when fully off, so the physical power button may be needed.
Does it replace a Samsung Smart Remote?
It covers many everyday commands but does not reproduce hardware-only features such as a solar cell, microphone or infrared device control.
